Student Affairs Communications and Marketing oversees commonvision, UMBC Student Design and Print Center. commonvision is a full-service print shop, in addition to being a design and animation studio. commonvision services are available for use by current UMBC affiliated students, staff, and faculty. Student staff are trained in print production services ranging from basic copying to speciality finishing and wide format services.
Getting Started
commonvision orders can be sent to commonvision@umbc.edu, or files can be brought in person on a flashdrive. We can accept most file types, but PDFs are preferred! Unsure about how to format your files? Send us an email and we can help navigate file setup.
Digital Laser Printing
Digital laser printing covers everything from essay printing to more complex booklets, brochures, and more. For more information on our variety of paper and speciality stocks, send us an email at commonvision@umbc.edu
Wide Format Inkjet Printing
We offer high impact and full color printing of posters, signs, and banners. We provide high quality prints, and facilitate outdoor installation of marketing pieces at UMBC.
Finishing Services
We’re pretty darn good at making things look awesome right off the press. commonvision’s finishing services include folding, collating, saddle-stitching, coil binding (metal and plastic), cutting, lamination, and foamcore mounting.
3D Printing
commonvision offers 3D printing services to the UMBC community with up to four filament colors in a single print! Our students learn on our machines through creations of their own and through print jobs sent to us. 3D modeling services depend on the project and staff availability.
